Tiemen Kuipers of Talk's Cheap sent me an invite to this event. This fella Don Denton took some great pictures of punk rock as it grew up (or didn't . . .) in Vancouver at the end of the 1970's. Some of the earliest images of some seminal groups.
(heh heh, I said seminal)
'Join us for the opening of Don Denton's show of his early Vancouver punk photos. Long before Don was snapping pics of the the people and places around Victoria for local papers, he was attending the earliest Vancouver punk shows and documenting the birth of the scene. Think DOA,The Subhumans, The Furies, The Dishrags and all the other bands that were there at the beginning of West coast punk in Canada...'
Show opens on Saturday, April 9th, starting at 7PM. DJ's will be playing early West coast punk to compliment Don's pictures. Don't miss it. The show runs through Sunday May 8th.
